We’ve updated our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy to improve clarity, transparency, and compliance. These updates include stronger data protection measures, new rights and escalation paths under the EU Digital Services Act, and a more detailed explanation of how we manage user content and personal data. We’ve also introduced clearer moderation processes, expanded recognition for international vision therapy credentials, and simplified our approach to cookies and advertising. These changes aim to make our practices easier to understand and give you greater control over your data and experience.

Terms of Use updates:

  • Expanded Data Protection for EU Users: We’ve added a GDPR-compliant Data Processing Agreement and appointed EU/UK/Swiss representatives for data privacy and digital compliance.
  • Broader Recognition of Vision Therapy Credentials: The list of accepted professional organizations for supervising vision therapy has expanded to include more international associations.
  • New Content Moderation & Appeals Process: We now have a structured process for reviewing and removing content, with clear notice and the ability to contest decisions.
  • Clarified Handling of User Content vs. Personal Data: Your rights over personal data are protected under our Privacy Policy and are not affected by content licenses.
  • Enhanced Transparency for EU Consumers: EU-based users now have the right to escalate unresolved disputes to certified out-of-court bodies under the Digital Services Act.
  • More Detail on Data Storage, Backups & Feedback Use: We’ve clarified how we store and handle personal data, backups, and user feedback in line with applicable privacy laws.
  • Improved Legal Disclosures: We now provide more specific legal language around international jurisdictions (like the EU and U.S.), and outline your rights more clearly in the event of service changes, termination, or disputes.

Privacy Policy updates:

  • Simplified Cookie Use: We no longer use tracking or analytics cookies — only essential cookies remain, so no cookie banner is needed.
  • No Targeted Ads or Profiling: We don’t use your data for behavioral ads or automated decision-making.
  • Enhanced Transparency: We’ve added a public transparency portal listing our data subprocessors and moderation reports.
  • EU Digital Services Act (DSA) Compliance: We’ve included new disclosures and user rights under the DSA, including how to contest moderation actions.
  • Improved Global Data Protection: We’ve appointed EU/UK/Swiss representatives and clarified our safeguards for international data transfers.
  • Anonymized Data for Research: We may use fully anonymized data to improve our services and support academic research. You can opt out anytime.
  • Named Data Protection Officer: You can now directly contact our Data Protection Officer, with any privacy concerns.
  • Clarified Your Rights: We’ve clarified how to exercise your GDPR and CCPA rights, including how to access, correct, or delete your data — with clearer timelines and procedures.
